Ogun People Expect So Much From You, Be Accountable - Abiodun Tells Hon. Adijat, 6 Others

Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, on Tuesday deployed Hon. Motunrayo Adijat Adeleye-Oladapo, the newly appointed cabinet member, to lead the state's Culture and Tourism ministry as its Commissioner.

Hon. Adeleye - Oladapo, a former member of the Ogun State House of Assembly, represented Ifo 11 State Constituency during the administion of Otunba Gbenga Daniel.

Other cabinet members deployed alongside Adeleye - Oladapo are Engr. Taiwo Oludotun( Commissioner for Forestry), Hon. Ganiyu Hamzat (Commissioner for Local Government & Chieftaincy Affairs), Hon. Oladimeji Oresanya (Commissioner for Environment), Hon. Olufemi Ilori-Oduntan (Commissioner for Special Duties and Inter-Governmental Affairs), Hon. Abayomi Semako Korotoe-Hunye( Commissioner for Community Development and Cooperatives) and Hon. Jamiu Kolawole Odetoogun (Commissioner for Rural Development).

The governor also appointed new Deputy chief of staff. He is Dr. Toyin Taiwo.

Addressing the 7 shortly after their inauguration at the Executive Council Chambers, Oke Mosan Governor's Office, Abeokuta, governor Dapo Abiodun said that the expectations of the good people of the state concerning them  remained high and urged them to be steadfast, prudent, accountable and efficiently integrate their vision into his administration's approaches to governance. 

"Let me emphasise that through your selection and subsequent appointment, you have been presented with a rare opportunity to lead and serve the people. The people expect so much from you in terms of performance. They deserve it. Their aspirations, their desires for growth and prosperity are hinged on your success.

"You have been designated because you are qualified and possess the right experience to make a positive difference in our dear State. Your actions and performance should steadily help our State blossom, grow well and make our people to thrive. This appointment is therefore a call to service.

"You must understand the fact that you are henceforth accountable to the people. You must remain connected to them and be worthy ambassadors of our Administrations policy of inclusiveness, fairness, accountability, transparency, equity, justice and obedience to the rule of law. Your work ethic, your commitment to service should exemplify our Administrations mantra, putting people first and working together for the common good. 

"Both the old and new members of the State Executive Council should ensure that the resources of the State put in their care are efficiently utilised. You should always be conscious of the fact that the responsibility for taking our dear States development and prosperity to an unprecedented heights now rests squarely on your shoulders.

"I urge you to be steadfast, prudent, accountable and efficiently integrate your vision into our two approaches to governance. Our focus on the Pillars of I.S.E.Y.A. I for Infrastructure; S for Social Welfare and Well being; E for Education; Y for Youth Empowerment and A for Agriculture and food security should continue to be propagated," Abiodun said.
