Soludo Demolishes Prophet Odumeje's Church As Security Operatives Manhandle Man Of God

An earth moving equipment has roared into Prophet Chukwuemeka Odumeje church in Onitsha and brought it down for allegedly violating building, physical and town planning regulations of Anambra State.

Odumeje's church, The Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention Deliverance Ministry Onitsha (a.k.a. land of freedom and miracle centre tucked inside a seedy area of Onitsha was reduced to a rubble.

The comedian man of God and musician who calls himself "the liquid metal, "the fight, the lion, the Indaboski Bahose, was also asaulted by security operatives attached to Anambra State Taskforce who were on ground to supervise the demolition.

A video in circulation depicted an appalling sight of Odumeje being shoved in different directions, shouted down, slapped and threatened by security operatives who were overheard ordering him out of the facility.

Officials of the Anambra State Physical Planning Board said they were only demolishing illegal structures.

The demolition bulldozer also brought down structures erected at Judges Quarters, GRA Onitsha.

The Executive Chairman of ANSPPB,  Barr. Chika Madukwe, hinted that the developer had been given Stop Work Orders severally but they ignored the directives of the state government.

Governor Chukwuma Charles Soludo had  at the inception of his administration which is barely 100 days, lamented the flouting of housing and building regulations of the state, vowing to dismantle any structure, including Odumeje's church, that allegedly did not conform with the state's building laws.

Soludo confirmed he authorized the demolition of the church of the popular Pastor Chukwuemeka Odumeje.

In a press release signed on his behalf by his Chief Press Secretary, Christian Aburime, governor Soludo said Odumeje's church and other buildings marked for demolition failed to comply with the government directive to remove the illegal structure built on waterway.

The press released with the title: Anambra State Government begins demolition of illegal structures in Fegge, reads

“Following the expiration of the more than two weeks notice beginning from April 2022 served on developers and building owners who built several illegal structures along the waterway in Fegge and environs within Onitsha, Anambra state government has begun demolition of such structures.

The exercise which is being carried out by a joint government task force, commenced the exercise from Bida Road by Modebe Avenue, Fegge Onitsha.

The affected buildings include Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention Deliverance Ministries, shops and other perimeter fences

The structures were marked since April, 2022 and all developers and building owners were served notice to remove such illegal structures''
