Governor Charles Soludo has condemned the physical assault on Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere aka Odumeje, on Thursday by state officials who used Caterpillar to bring down the cleric's church building.

The Daily Crucible reports that an earth moving equipment roared into Odumeje's church in Onitsha and brought part of it down for allegedly violating building, physical and town planning regulations of Anambra State.

The popular cleric's church, The Mountain of Holy Ghost Intervention Deliverance Ministry Onitsha (a.k.a. land of freedom and miracle centre is tucked inside the seedy Fegge area of Onitsha.

While the demolition was going on, the comedian man of God and musician who calls himself "the liquid metal, "the fight, the lion" and "the Indaboski Bahose," was seen being asaulted by security operatives attached to Anambra State Taskforce, who were on ground to supervise the church demolition.

And a video in circulation depicted an appalling sight of Odumeje being shoved in different directions, shouted down, hit, slapped and threatened by security operatives who were also overheard ordering him out of the facility.

Officials of the Anambra State Physical Planning Board on Thursday said they were only demolishing illegal structures.

The demolition bulldozer also brought down structures erected at Judges Quarters, GRA Onitsha.

But reacting on Friday to the incident, Soludo said the attack on Odumeje was regrettable.

"Yesterday's outing has evoked emotions, not against the decision of the government, but the imperfect and unprofessional manner with which one of the task force members discharged his lawful duty.

"This is highly regretted, and would never happen again. I have instructed that the task force personnel involved in the manhandling of Prophet Chukwuemeka Ohanaemere (Odumeje) be treated in accordance with the rules of public conduct which he roundly failed to uphold," he in a Facebook post.
