The Ogun State Government has lauded the real estate projects and other initiatives - especially the emerging autarky scheme, of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Pelican Valley Nigeria Ltd, Dr Babatunde Adeyemo, and urged him to do more of those laudable innovations in the state.

Speaking through the Commissioner for Housing, Jagunmolu Jamiu Omoniyi, the state government noted that it remained impressed with what Adeyemo had been doing in the last 10 years through his Pelican Valley Estate and Pelican Brief, assuring him that the government would support his great ideas aimed at helping to solve the housing deficit in the Gateway State and the country.

Jagunmolu Omoniyi made this known when he received Pelican Valley Nigeria Ltd CEO and his team in the Housing Ministry Conference Room at Okemosan Abeokuta.

Adeyemo and his team were in the ministry on a courtesy call at the weekend to familiarize the Commissioner with the novel Pelican/Gateway Economic Autarky Project.

The project is an emerging self sustaining economy that will serve as bedrock of a  sustainable urbanization and economic independence in Kobape - Masa axis of the state.

The Daily Crucible reports that a week earlier, the project also received commendation when the state Commissioner for Physical Planning and Urban Development, Tpl. Tunji Odunlami, vouched for Adeyemo's integrity, reliability and his commitment to following due process in the way he went about the real estate business in Ogun State.

Odunlami described the CEO as the 'poster boy of the real estate business sector in the Gateway State' and one person he would readily recommend always to prospective investors.

Similarly, the Housing Commissioner congratulated Adeyemo for his wonderful job in the real estate world as well as the lofty autarky project, assuring "what you are bringing to the table is a welcome idea, and we want to wholeheartedly welcome you and support you whichever way you want."

Continuing, Omoniyi said: "I get elated when I came in contact with your lofty ideas and lovely innovations , trying to change the narratives of our land.
I was overwhelmed going through your profile.. as a trained journalist who found a passion in housing. I'm also a trained accountant who found his first love in construction.

"On behalf of the State government and my amiable boss, Prince Dapo Abiodun and the ministry of housing , I want to congratulate you for the wonderful job you have been doing over the last 10 years in the state and we want to urge you to do more.

"For us, as the captain of real Estate sector in Ogun state, we cannot but support  great ideas that would help solve the housing deficit in the Nation.
For us in this government,  we believe housing is a right of every citizens, not a privilege. We are about the first Government to sign the Mortgage and foreclosure law..

The law is to protect all genuine investors in the State. Aside the genuine investors,  everyone that has to had value to the value chain,  be you subscrber, investor, financier or developer. The law will definitely interest you and propel you to do more.

"We also have a housing policy to deliver a total of 2,500 housing units before the end of our first tenure in office and I want to tell you now that as at today, we have surpassed the record of the last 16yrs...despite the COVID - 19 which took over one year.

"So, what you are bringing to the table is a welcome idea, and we want to wholeheartedly welcome you and support you whichever way you want."

Speaking earlier, Adeyemo noted that
the critical role of the ministry of Housing cannot be over emphasized, and commended the commissioner on the achievements of the  ministry under his  meticulous watch.

The Pelican Valley CEO said the commissioner had continued to uphold the principles guiding the ministry and putting in place, necessary mechanism that had also enhanced various Housing development projects of governor Dapo Abiodun - led administration which were aimed at providing affordable homes to citizens and residents of Ogun state.

He sought a synergy with the Ogun State government to drive investments, create jobs as well as an avenue for food security.

He, therefore, appealed to the state government to improve on the infrastructural needs of the area, especially by fixing  the 1.5km single lane Kobape - Masa road to quicken developments in that area of the state.

He said: "Today, Pelican Brief Estate, Kobape is one of the fastest growing Estates, with over one thousand Nigerians in Diasporas, directly invested.

"Sir, we are here for a number of reasons, one of which is that, Ogun state is our host, but primarily, we are here to share with you our vision and mission towards creating a self-sustaining economy that would also serve as bedrock for sustainable urbanization and internally generated revenue that will enhance economy sustainability and also stand the test of time.

"We want to ignite the Gateway smart city of our dream as Urbanization lies not just in the hand of the government, but likewise collective effort of the private investors and stakeholders in the real Estate sector in the state, in line with the mandate of the Prince Dapo Abdiodun’s Led Administration.

"Pelican Valley Nigeria limited had played a vital role in the state urbanization and controlled development strategy in Ogun State in general.

"The emergence and the launch of Pelican Brief Estate, Kobape had played an integral role in generation of revenue for the state government, ranging from various stamp duties from clients and investors, also bringing over one thousand Nigerians in diasporas into the Ogun State governments Tax drag net, through payment of stamp duties and building approval levies apart from the corresponding job creation effects of our project.

To us this is just a starting point as we are set to ignite some project within the Kobape region that will help to aid, sustain and generate more revenue to the coffers of the state government and also aid controlled development, proper planning and Urbanization and most importantly boost the agricultural production base of the state in no small measures.

"Today, Pelican Brief Estate is the only Estate with a full Government Approved layout, in the last three years of this administration lifespan, having fulfilled meticulously, all the conditions and requirements from all the relevant Government agencies.

"The Pelican's Gateway Economic Autarky project contains four sub project namely; The Pelican's Ecostay Apartments, The Pelican Brief Estate, The Pelican's Greenish Acres Farm Estate and The pelican Farm Market. (As it was in our frame).

" The pelican ecostay apartment as the name implies evolves around building affordable homes for intended client in a 100% eco-friendly environment which support zero carbon emission in its usage. I  want to note that our products are not in any way conflicting with that of the state Government but rather complimentary.

The Pelican Brief Estate is set to be the very first smart city, with our serviced plot allotment scheme...

"However, in our bid to completely invigorate the economy of our Estates axis at Kobape, our Organization had concluded plans to launch the Pelican's Greenish acres farm Estate and also the Pelican’s Farm Market, less that 1.5 kilometers away from our Estate projects in Kobape, come 11th of September 2022. All this will further enhance more tax generation from this axis."

 Prayer for Strategic Partnership

"Infrastructure is an important element in urban development. No one can underestimate the need for good road network and the various developments it can drive along.

It is worthy of note that this particular Masa, kobape axis had been constantly neglected by past administrations; and had felt the presence of government over 2 decades ago. Thanks to chief Osoba for fixing a 33-KVA trunk line we are enjoying on the axis today.

"Apart from the 1.5Km committed acquisition boundaries, the strategic and prime status of the axis is expected to generate an estimated #30 billion in direct and indirect taxes into the coffers of the Ogun State government within the next three years, when the three kilometers single lane Masha/ Abeokuta road is fixed. This same road, spanning through Kobape junction to Masha village which also connects through President Muhammadu Buhari Estate from behind, has the capacity to decongest the whole Abeokuta metropolis within three years.

Let me conclude this address by informing the Honorable Commissioner that we are also extending this consultations to the ministry of Agriculture, finance, urban and His Excellency, the Executive Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun .

"We need your mutually beneficial support, so that we can jointly deliver this life-long dream, for the benefit of humanity and the unborn generation."
