The Chief Executive Officer of Pelican Valley Nigeria Ltd, Dr.Babatunde Adeyemo, has given insight into how fixing a single lane road linking Kobape to Masa in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State will shoot up the state's Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) by N40bn in three years.

The Kobape - Masa single lane road leads to an emerging smart city, an initiative of Pelican Valley Nigeria Ltd, through its Pelican - brief estate in Kobape axis of the state.

The area is also home to the just proposed Pelican'S Gateway Economic Autarky project comprising three sub project namely; The Pelican's Ecostay Apartments, The Pelican Brief Estate, The Pelican's Greenish Acres Farm Estate and The pelican Farm Market.

Given the strategic and prime status of the axis, it is expected to generate an estimated N40 billion in direct and indirect taxes into the coffers of the Ogun State government within the next three years, when the said 3 km single lane road is fixed.

Besides, the 1.5Km committed acquisition boundaries around the area is also an added economic advantage.

Explaining these to the Commissioner of Information and Strategy, Alh. Waheed Odusile, during a courtesy visit to the ministry in Oke Mosan, Abeokkuta on Thursday, Adeyemo said he had decided to share the company's vision and mission of creating a self sustaining economy that would serve as bedrock for a sustainable urbanization and economic independence in Kobape - Masa axis of the state.

He said that apart from the attendant expected revenues from Kobape - Masa axis, the road would also serve as a veritable route to decongest the kobape - Abeokuta expressway and also aide urban - rural movement of goods and services.

He appealed to governor Dapo Abiodun - led administration to partner with Pelican Valley Nigeria Ltd and key into the immense economic potentials which that axis represents by fixing the Kobape - Masa single lane road to enable the state government and private investor(s) gain maximally from it.

The Pelican Valley CEO noted that infrastructure is an important element in urban development, saying no one can underestimate the need for good road network and the various developments it engenders.

He expressed the concern that this particular Masa, kobape axis had been neglected by past administrations; and had only felt the presence of government over two decades ago when the administration of Aremo Segun Osoba provided a 33-KVA trunk line being  enjoyed today by residents and business operators on that axis.

"We want to ignite the Gateway smart cities of our dream as Urbanization lies not just in the hand of the government, but likewise collective effort of the private investors and stakeholders in the real Estate sector in the state.

"In line with the mandate of the Prince Dapo Abdiodun’s led Administration,
Pelican Valley Nigeria limited had played a vital role in the state urbanization and controlled development strategy of this ministry in particular and Ogun State government in general.

"The emergence and the launch of Pelican Brief Estate, Kobape had played an  integral role in generation of revenue for the state government, ranging from various stamp duties from clients and investors, also bringing over one thousand Nigerians in diaspora into the Ogun State  governments Tax drag net, through payment of stamp duties and building approval levies apart from the corresponding job creation effects of our project," he said.

He explained that Pelican Brief estate had attracted over one thousand  investments from Nigerians in Diaspora to Kobape .

He said that the project had banked on various infrastructure development mainly the 33KVA trunk line project put in place by the Olusegun Osoba led administration, a project of an estimated value of over five hundred million executed over two decades ago.

According to him, this infrastructure had remained fallow, untapped and underutilized over the years, until the Pelican Valley Nigeria Ltd registered its presence there.

Adeyemo expressed the confidence that they will soon ignite some project within the Kobape region to help drive, sustain and generate more revenue to the cofers of the state government as well as aid controlled development, proper  planning and urbanization.

"The pelican ecostay apartment as the name implies evolve around building affordable homes for intended client in a 100% eco-friendly environment which support zero carbon emission in it usage. The Pelican Brief Estate is set to be the very first smart city, with our serviced plot allotment scheme.

"However,  in our bid to completely invigorate the economy of our Estates axis, our Organisation had concluded plans to launch the Pelican's Greenish acres farm Estate and also the Pelican"s Farm Market,  less that 1.5 kilometres away from our Estate projects in Kobape, come 11th of September 2022."

He lauded Odusile for continuously upholding the principles guiding the ministry and putting in place the mechanism that had continuously enhanced the image of Ogun State, stressing that this in part gave birth to the prevailing goodwill that Pelican Valley Estate and Pelican Brief Estste are enjoying both locally and internationally.

Adeyemo added that this informed why Pelican Brief Estate is one of the fastest growing Estate, with over one thousand Nigerians in diaspora as investors.

Responding, the Information Commissioner, Alh. Waheed Odusile, who feels impressed over the quality of investments and investors Pelican Valley Nigeria Ltd is driving to Kobape - Masa axis of the state through its initiatives, said that even governor Dapo Abiodun would be excited to receive the CEO, Dr. Adeyemo, to mull over the envisaged partnership.
"On your request for the construction of the road linking pelican Brief I suggest that  as we go about our meeting with my colleagues in the cabinet, I would implore you to find time to also see the commissioner for road and infrastructure so that the road we are talking about can be factored in our future road project.

"Also, I am sure His excellency Prince Dapo Abiodun would be very much willing to receive you when you are ready, he will happily receive you and your team.

"To see young guy like you doing this wonderful things shows that our future is bright for Nigeria. In Ogun state, we take the lead positively in Nigeria, when you talk about any profession, people tend to envy us, we are seen as number 1, and we have a higher institution in Ogun state than in any other state," he said.
