David Nwamini Ukpo the young man connected to the controversial organ harvesting saga involving Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife has explained  how he allegedly met the Senator.

David Nwamini Ukpo whose real age is also subject of controversy in the alleged organ harvesting plot, said he was also lured from Nigeria to the United Kingdom without his full knowledge and consent of what was afoot.

He offered the explanation using his social mefia.

The unedited post on the matter which he backed with his posted Visa page reads:

My journey to UK - David Nwamini Ukpo

"On one fateful day I met a man named okoro in a building site where I was working for my daily bread, okoro told me he like me, he want to help me achieve my dream because he saw me as a great person. He told me could you like to work in UK I just started laughing because I don't have money for that, then I told him no am not interested and asked me why I told him I don't have money for that.

He just started laughing to me and told me he is going to introduce me to senator his company in UK need workers, so he could start my visa processing.

I have no other option than to accept the offered, after two day the man came to the building site again and told me the senator wanted to see me so we could start the visa processing, then I dropped my shovel and head pan and went to bath immediately.

Mrs okoro took me to unknown area where I haven't been before, I was afraid maybe he is a money ritualist, I encouraged my self since I knew Mr okoro for a long time there will be no problem. Mr okoro hand me over to one young  man wearing a suit, he told me everything about  then I told him Mr okoro has already explain everything to me and I have accepted to work in UK.

Next day these young man introduced me to another man immediately I saw the  man I greeted him, I don't know his name then he told me he is the owner of the company that want workers in UK and ask me if am interest to work I said yes sir immediately with happiness all over my heart.

Their later gave me a room on that mansion and snap me a passport photographs and told their will start my visa processing immediately. the kind of food I ate there my generation haven't ate it before. I was so happy staying in that house. After a week their told me my visa and passport are ready their told we are going to leave tomorrow, I was taken to airport from there we land in UK I was taken to a hospital in UK.

When we landed in hospital in UK I was told I must went for a medical test to check my health status, if I'm fit for the job I accepted without any question. I thank God for doctor harry who told me everything and I told him why I'm here and he later called police for my rescued."

According to London Mail report yesterday, David did not know that he was taken to London for the purpose of donating his kidney.

The paper reports that “The 15-year-old was given the passport of a 41-year-old in order to get into the UK, but did not know he was there to donate a kidney until he went for a hospital appointment in London, a court heard on Thursday.”

The Mail quoted Prosecutor Damla Ayas as telling the Uxbridge Magistrates Court.
“After he (David) arrived in the capital in February, he had a string of medical appointments about kidney donation, but a consultant at the Royal Free Hospital in Hampstead, North London, became concerned about the boy’s real age and if he knew he was there to donate an organ, it is alleged.

“’He was provided with a medical travel visa saying the purpose of the travel was to provide medical treatment for the defendants’ daughter who was undergoing dialysis in relation to a number of health issues.

“It was premeditated, it was planned. Blood tests were obtained in Nigeria and he travelled to the UK in February this year.
“He was taken to several medical appointments, in particular a medical appointment at the Royal Free Hospital, and was spoken to by a consultant about the organ harvesting for a kidney transplant.

“The consultant was concerned about his actual age and was concerned he was not aware he was the donor of the kidney. He only found out that the purpose of his visit was for an organ transplant when he visited the hospital.”

Meanwhile, the couple has been charged with conspiracy to arrange or facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploitation, namely organ harvesting.

The kidney was meant for their daughter, Sonia, who requires a kidney transplant to live.

Ekweremadu and wife  face a 10 year jail term if found guilty.

David is now under the care of safeguarding authorities and the Metropolitan Police, officials said while the accused persons are being remanded in custody.

The next hearing in the case comes up on July 7 when the court will rule on jurisdiction.

However, the University of Lincoln, United Kingdom, has banned Senator Ike Ekweremadu who it recently appointed a visiting professor of Corporate and International Linkages.

This came on the heels of Thursday’s arrest and subsequent arraignment of Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice, in London for alleged conspiracy to harvest the kidney of 15 years old Ukpo Nwamini David.

David, according to the prosecution, was trafficked from Nigeria and entered the UK with the passport of a 41-year-old man.

The London Mail yesterday quoted the university’s spokesperson as saying that Ekweremadu’s duties at the institution have been suspended for the time being.

“Visiting professors are often, as is in this case, non-resident at the university, unpaid and advisory,” the university’s spokesperson said.

“We are deeply concerned about the nature of these allegations, but as this is an active police investigation, we cannot comment further at this stage.
“Whilst this matter is subject to investigation, this person will not be undertaking any duties as visiting professor at Lincoln.”
