Two persons - a businesswoman and a clergyman, have been kidnapped at different times and locations within four days in resumed onslaughts by suspected kidnappers against residents of the beleaguered Ijebu Ode, the headquarters of Ijebu Ode Local government Area of Ogun State.

The businesswoman identified as Alhaja Afolashade Kuku Ajetumobi was abducted by persons suspected to be kidnappers on Thursday, while the clergyman who is said to be the founder of a branch of CCC church, Beulah Parish, located inside Golden Estate, Ijebu-Ode, was kidnapped yesterday by suspected gunmen along Ibadan Ijebu - Ode road after Sunday service.

Both victims are yet to regain freedom from their abductors, raising more worries among family members and residents about the captives' condition.

The businesswoman who in recent years had adopted a low profile life to stay safe from suspected kidnappers disturbing the peace of the ancient town, was ambushed on Thursday by gun-wielding kidnappers and abducted on her way home after business engagements.

It was gathered that the gunmen struck around Awokoya area of the town and took her away to a yet - to - be determined destination. She has spent five days already with her captors in their den.

The attackers intercepted Afolashade as she was driving home in a Toyota Sienna bus and forced her out of the vehicle.

The latest two incidents lengthened the litany of residents kidnapped by hoodlums operating in Ijebu-Ode and its environs in recent times with many said to have paid huge ransom before they could regain their freedom.

Alhaja Afolashade Kuku Ajetumobi according to a resident sells food items at the popular Oke-Aje market in Ijebu Ode, while her husband, a Muslim cleric and businessman is based in the United States of America.

According to sources, no fewer than 25 residents were kidnapped in Ijebu - Ode in the last couple of years and ransom paid to the kidnappers by victims and relatives to regain freedom.

However, a source close to the Ogun State Police Command told The Daily Crucible that the Police are not yet aware of the latest kidnapping of the CCC church clergyman.
