Enugu: EFCC Arrests Church Founder Wanted By FBI For Fraud

Operatives of the Enugu Zonal Command of the EFCC, have arrested Kelechi Vitalis Anozie, a suspect on the watch list of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI.

Anozie was arrested on March 10, 2022, following credible intelligence linking him to alleged conspiracy, wire fraud and money laundering.

 He and four other suspects: Valentine Iro, Ekene Ekechukwu (alias Ogedi Power), Bright Azubuike (alias Bright Bauer Azubuike) and Ifeanyi Junior, were alleged to have defrauded one F.F who lives in Illinois, United States, the sum of $135,800 US Dollars.

They stepped up the scam by allegedly defrauding the victim of another $47,000.

Anozie is the Founder of Praying City Church located in Owerri, Imo State.

The Daily Crucible recalls that a day earlier on Thursday, March 11, 2022, one one Osondu Victor Igwilo, who had been on the watch list of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, since 2018, was nabbed by operatives of the EFCC, Lagos Command when they swooped on him.

                          •The suspects

Fifty-two year-old Igwilo is the alleged leader of a criminal network of “ catchers’’ was arrested alongside Okafor Nnamdi Chris, Nwodu Uchenna Emmaunel and John Anazo Achukwu at a studio in the Sangotedo area of Lagos for an alleged fraud, money laundering and identity theft to the tune of about $100m.

Before their arrest, Igwilo and his accomplices had allegedly been involved in an advance-fee scheme that involved false promises of investment funding by individuals who impersonated some United States of America, USA, bank officials in person and via the internet.
