Thirty - two - year old Funmilayo Modupe Oladiran, an indigene of Agbanjege community situating along Siun in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area of Ogun State, is one whose life has taken a painful twist.

In the last three years, Funmilayo's life is synonymous with excruciating pains and dream cut short. A painful regenerative mass on her head is the cause. It has shattered her self esteem. It has also robbed Funmilayo of her beauty, joy and opportunity to socialise.

Although, she holds a National Diploma certificate in Computer Science of the Yaba College of Technology, Lagos, and had learned tailoring too in bids to walk out of poverty but this lady has not been able to put any of these trainings/skills to any use as her health challenge stood in the way.

Funmilayo, the second of three siblings, dreams of becoming a nurse in future but that too looks dimmer, if not a forlorn hope, while her companion - the daily aches in the head, ear and eyes, has equally become torturous.

The condition, The Daily Crucible learnt, requires going for some medical tests to arrive at accurate diagnosis and possible treatment proceedure by relevant healthcare experts but the snag is that the lady is indigent and same for her mother, who is a petty trader.

Funmilayo claimed the condition started like a painless tiny pimple 16 years ago, but turned malignant in 2019. It has since  continued to grow in size with accompanying variegated pains.

This is beside the stress which the weight of the lump/ mass exerts daily on her lean neck, occasionally transiting between the same neck and her head.

All hope is not totally lost. It was learnt that her situation can be reversed. She can experience joy, happiness and find her rhythm again, that is, if kindhearted Nigerians, Ogun state government, individuals, medical experts and organisations could come to her aid and speedily too, to end both her pains and sorrow.

Funmilayo accompanied by her mother, was in Iweiroyin, Abeokuta, the Secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists(NUJ), Ogun State Council, where she bared her plights to newsmen.

She is appealing to Nigerians for assistance. Help her pick up the pieces again. She needs funds to commence the process of diagnosis - lab tests, and treatment of her condition by experts. She needs both the fund and expert advice on where to get the right treatment or organisations rendering free surgery service to the needy. That is not all. She told our reporter that starvation is also her companion, since she does work and had to rely on equally indigent mother and petty trader for could hardly pass a modest meal once in a day.

Funmilayo's contact is 08072009298 while mother's bank details reads:  Rebecca Oladiran. Zenith bank: 2217685346.
