Ranging from the songs ministration by the parish choir under the zonal leadership of Mrs Adeyemi, recitation of the ABC of the Bible by the children, drama presentation to the sermon, it was another opportunity for the Redeemers to rejig their christian famiies as well as calls to rededicate them in conformity with the will of God as His ordained institution.

In his sermon anchored on biblical passages drawn from Luke 2: 52, Isaiah 54 :1-3, Genesis 14:28, Revelations 4 :11 among others, the Parish Pastor, Oladipo Abolade Augustine, defined family as an institution ordained by God and said this informed why the devil is never happy about it and always seek to rob it of its peace, joy and increase.

Pastor Oladipo described family as people related by marriage, birth or adoption, stressing that it is also a place of refuge, peace and joy.

He noted that the church is a family of Christ by adoption and through the shedding of His blood that brings about salavation of mankind from sin.

The pastor expressed concern over the increasing risk posed to the family institution today by civilization as it is creating gaps and making it to gradually lose its role as a place of joy and first building block of learning on human relations.

According to him, instead of peace and unity, the family is fast becoming a place of rivalry and competition, where people want their children alone to excel more than that of others.

Citing Isaiah 54 1-3, Genesis 14:28, Psalm 121, he said God's purpose is that family should multiply and replenish the earth, adding that it is not the making of God, if peace and love are missing in a family.

He identified unity with one's spouse, increase in devotion to God, absolute trust in God and spousal intimacy as vital factors that engender peace, love and prosperity in a family.

He noted that a good number of the challenges many families contend with today are self - inflicted, praying that God in His mercy should restore peace, joy, strenght, stability, fruitfulness and unity in any family facing hard times.

He advised singles to look very well before they leap on issues of marriage, saying it is far better to have many broken relationships than a broken marriage.

"Incase you have married the wrong person and contemplating a divorce, that is not the answer. christ, the prince of peace shall restore your home and grant you peace if you yield to him," he said.
