Last Moment Of Veteran Actor, Baba Suwe

Veteran Yoruba actor Babatunde Omidina, popularly called Baba  Suwe, has died at age 63.

Although, the comic actor has been coping with symptoms of partial stroke since and was said to have shown no sign of passing away as his demise took his family members by surprise.

"It was a sudden thing," it was learnt.

One of his children, Adesola, broke the news on official Instagram page @Omo_Omidina on Monday.

“This is to announce the sudden death of my father Mr. Babatunde Omidina. The legend and rare gem “ Babasuwe ° Other details will follow shortly! May your soul rest in perfect peace Dad,” Adesola said in the post.

Baba Suwe began acting in 1971 but a movie he featured in titled, Omolasan, a film produced by Obalende, shot him to limelight.

He kept rising on popularity after he featured in Iru Esin, produced by Olaiya Igwe in 1997.

He had featured and produced several Nigerian movies such as Baba Jaiye jaiye, a movie that featured Funke Akindele and Femi Adebayo.

The actor believed that his life and career took a dramatic twist in 2011 after he was accused of drug trafficking by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency(NDLEA).

Although, the allegation was described as false and defamatory by the ruling of the Lagos high court of law but his health took a downward trend from that period till he passed away on Monday.

His solicitor was the late Bamidele Aturu, a Nigerian lawyer and human rights activist.
