Federal Fire Service Assures Of Attending To Fire, Other Emergencies In Ogun

The Federal Fire Service Ogun State Command has assured it's commitment to prompt response to fire and other emergencies in the State.

It said it will continue to perform these critical functions in collaboration with other agencies in ensuring safety of lives and properties.
The Commanding officer, Controller Muibi Rebecca gave the assurance at the 2021 Fire safety week Tagged "Preventing the outbreak of fire, a collective responsibility" held at the command Secretariat, Okemosan Abeokuta the state capital.

The Daily Crucible observed that controller Muibi alongside with other agencies took the "awareness walk" to Kuto market to sensitize people about outbreak of fire and the presence of federal fire service in the state.  

Present at the event included the Commissioner for Special Duties, Bar. Femi Ogunbanwo, FRSC Corp Commandant, Bashir Umar, NSCDC Commandant, Kolawole Taiwo among others.

At the market they were taught how to use the fire  extinguisher and fire blanket to douse fire .

Mrs  Muibi said :"Our response is very very effective we do not waste time. Immediately you call us that there is fire outbreak somewhere we quickly respond and our fire men respond so fast to tackle the fire.

"The operatives are always ready, but incase they arrived late to an emergency scene, maybe distress callers mistakenly dialled a wrong number, that is why we are teaching them this safety precaution and fire rescue tactics. We have all the equipment to stop fire, all the materials to tackle the fire."

Controller Muibi therefore advised the residents of the state to ensure safety of lives and property during the festive period.

She urges the resident to be cautious of their environment and be vigilant as we are about to enter a new season.

The command spokesperson, Mr Ayansiji Olusegun admonished people not to be careless with fire advising them to have first aid fire gadgets at home.

On her parts, Chief (Mrs ) Isiwatu Adeoye, the Kuto market leader appreciated the federal fire service for sensitizing their members on needs to prevent fire out break.She expressed her profound gratitude for this initiative created by the Federal fire service Ogun state.
