The main runner in the race for the chairmanship seat of Ogun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Nuberu  Adesanya Olufemi,  has expressed the optimism that he would emerge victorious in the party''s State congress slated for Saturday.

Nuberu who hails from Ago - Iwoye in Ijebu North Local Government, Ogun East Senatorial district of the State, said he had gone round, reaching out to party leaders and other critical stakeholders, soliciting their blessings and support to actualise his ambition to lead Ogun APC.

He spoke at the party  Secretariat in Abeokuta on Thursday while waiting to submit his nomination form to the APC State Congress Screening Committee from the National Headquarters, Abuja.

The aspirant was accompanied to the APC State Secretariat by some party leaders, including Rev. Oyeyemi John Oyebanji, who is also an aspirant for the post of Publicity Secretary.
Nuberu  said: "I'm an aspirant for the chairmanship position of Ogun State chapter of the AL Progressives Congress. We are at the party Secretariat  to meet the Screening Committee of our party for the State Congress in line with the guidelines of the National Secretariat which says that October 13 and 14 are set aside for the screening exercise.

"I paid for my nomination form exactly September 15 , I have been going around campaigning, wooing the delegates and other statutory electorate that would cast their votes for us during the State Congress. So,  we are ready to meet with our leaders from Abuja. All my credentials are with me.

" It is my dream to run a participatory administration if given the mandate to run the affairs of our great party. I'm a grassroots  mobilizer, so,  mobilization is not strange to us.  We will try as much as possible to harness the resources that we have especially the human resources.
"For example,  when you look at APC in Ogun State, we are greatly endowed and blessed. We have three former governors of the state, His Excellencies Senator Ibikunle  Amosun, Otunba Gbenga Daniel and Akinrogun Olusegun Osoba and the incumbent, Prince Dapo Abiodun. That is four great people within the party. They constitute a great human capital for the party. We have to harness it. We must ensure that there is peace in the party.

"And for peace to be ensured,  justice is a condition and where do you get that justice are stipulated in the party's guidelines and constitution. We must uphold the tenets and provisions of the party constitution and that is the only thing that can guarantee peace and stability in the party."

Meanwhile,  the congress to elect state APC in Ogun State will hold on Saturday just as the 7- member team from the APC headquarters in Abuja saddled with the responsibility to conduct the Congress has already arrived Abeokuta, the state capital for the exercise.
