Gunmen Attack Traditional Rulers In Imo, Kill 3, Injure Others

Tragedy struck in Imo State community on Tuesday evening when Unknown Gun Men(UGM) invaded a venue where traditional rulers were having a meeting and opened fire on them, spilling blood and rupturing the peace of the area..

No fewer than five royal fathers were said to have been picked up dead by villagers with unspecified number sustaining varying degrees of injuries when the dust mercifully settled, according to varying unofficial sources.

Among the monarchs said to have died following the gruelling attack, were the Obi 1 of Okwudor autonomous community, Eze E. Anayochukwu Durueburuo and Eze Sampson Osunwa of Ihebineowerre autonomous community.

The Daily Crucible learnt that the  traditional rulers were having a stakeholders’ meeting at the Njaba local council headquarters at Nnenasa when the attackers struck.

It was learnt that many fell and were also injured following an ensuing stampede when guns began to boom in quick succession, throwing the council headquarters into a state of panic and chaos.

The police spokesperson in the state, Mike Abattam, said two of the traditional rulers had been confirmed dead while the command had commenced investigation into the incident.
