I found it gravely ridiculous and unpardonable, a remarks recently credited to Mr Femi Adesina, whilst comparing his principal (President Buhari) with the late sage and the first premier of the Old Western Region (Late Chief Obafemi Awolowo).

I asked several rhetorical questions, if there is any logic of comparison of these two people in all facets of life and quiet honestly I could not hitherto fix the two personalities. They are just too sharply and horizontally far from each other.  So why such unfounded juxtaposition of two heterogeneous figures?

I suspect with no apologies, that this could be to draw unhealthy sympathy for Mr president or he (Adesina) seems to be so parochial of factors or variables for "logic of comparison". This is pretty sad quiet honestly.

I pick few variables for my analysis:
- Ethnicity: One of the cardinal features to describe Chief Obafemi Awolowo till tomorrow, was his detribalised nature as he believes so much in Nigeria and Nigerians at large. Is it the case in President Buhari? With the perrennial accusation of Nepotistic colouration of Fulanization.

- Ideology: The late sage ideological principles still remains absolutely enviable in Nigerian polity. Rarely will you see any politician who do not want to be identified with the Awolowo's ideology among the contemporary politicians.

- Infrastructure: So many of those things achieved during the Old Western Region, by Chief Obafemi Awolowo, are still pretty relevant today as edifices: the likes of Coco House, Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) Adamasingba Stadium, just to mention few.

- Education: Several of the bunch of hedonists, call political elites today in Nigeria, especially in the South Western Nigeria,  would not have been educated. If not for the free education system introduced by late Obafemi Awolowo. He did not spend billions, like the Buhari led government did on "school feeding" while students were at home during COVID 19.
Just to mention few of the variables.

Be that as it may, it is also crystal clear to suspect this act as being obnoxiously hypocritical, of he (Adesina) because one would have imagined why Buhari was being compared with Awolowo and not the likes of Tafawa Balewa or Ahmadu Bello?. Since they are Northerners like his principal.

Though several people may be wondering here, If Femi Adesina, truly deserves this much audience I have given to him here. Since he (Adesina) and his other fellow presidential aids are known for these usual overzealousnes. However, I want to say he deserves a response on this particular remarks. So he and others including their principal (President Buhari) will know that Nigerians are not fools nor parochial.
