Enraged mother of two, Joy Sunday, has been arrested by the police for attacking  another woman, Justina Ameh, with hot water and causing her whole facial skin to peel off

It was learnt that Justina had repeatedly accused Joy, 37, of sleeping with her husband, which the suspect too claimed angered her.

The Police Public Relations Officer for Ogun state Police Command,  Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed this on Sunday, said the suspect was arrested by detectives  who were detailed to the scene by the Divisional Police Officer, Agbado Division, Kehinde Kuranga, after one Kelechi Samuel had formally reported the incident to the division.
Abimbola said the victim's sister told the police that she went for a vigil at the Spring of Life Global Ministry situated at Giwa area of Agbado with her younger sister when the suspect came into the church with a container of hot water and poured it on her sister's face.

The Police Spokesperson added that the complainant said the action caused her sister a grievous harm and that when she was also trying to take her sister away,  the suspect stabbed her left hand.

"The suspect, Joy Sunday explained that, the victim has been accusing her of sleeping with her husband for quite some time now, and all efforts to disabuse her mind from it proved abortive.

" On that fateful day, while they were in the church, the victim came as usual and started raining curses on her. While she tried to walk away from her, the victim pulled her back with her cloth and tore the cloth.

"It was that annoyance that made her to go home and boiled water which she brought back to the church and poured it on the victim's face.

"When asked whether or not she is dating the victim's husband, the suspect said she can swear with anything that there is nothing between her and the victim's husband," Abimbola said.

The Police Spokesperson said the victim was taken to  Strong Tower Hospital for medical treatment while  the Commissioner of Police Edward Ajogun has called for a  proper investigation of the case.
