Dangote Rice May End Rice Importation, Crash Market Price In Nigeria

Challenges of rice importation and attendant rise in its price in the nation's market may soon be over when Dangote Group begins to roll out tonnes of rice from the production mill.

 Dangote Group already has acquired massive farmland spanning 150,000 hectares and spread across Jigawa, Kano, Kebbi, Nasarawa, Niger, Sokoto, and Zamfara States as well as rice mills in parts of the country.

The Brand & Communication, Dangote croup, Mr. Francis Awowofe - Browne, who  made this known in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, said those steps were taken to help produce rice in tonnes enough to meet the demand of Nigerian market and beyond.

 Awowole - Browne spoke while fielding question from newsmen during a three - day critical media practice workshop sponsored by Dangote Group and Foliomedia.

He also revealed that the billionaire businessman and chairman of Dangote Group of Companies, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, has many   businesses  spread across Nigeria and african continent, including Dangote Refinery in Lagos Free Trade Zone Ibeju Lekki, Lagos that give employment to people.

According to him, economists 
put the estimate of Dangote investment in Lagos Free Trade Zone, Ibeju Lekki at $19billion dollars while the refinery is expected to churn out 650,000 barrels of oil per day when completed and operational.
