Anxiety suffused the atmosphere around Ilaro,  the Headquarters of Yewa South Local Government Area of Ogun state over the health of former military administrator of Oyo State and civilian administrator of Ekiti State, General Adetunji Idowu Olurin(retd).

A source said rumours of the man passing on are still rife but added that no credible person or authorized member of the Olurin family in Ilaro Yewa, Ogun State, has confirmed him dead or refuted the rumour of his death.

Adetunji, 76, was one time Nigerian ECOMOG Commander and former People's Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in Ogun state in 2011, passed on this Saturday morning at the University of Lagos Teaching Hospital (LUTH).

However,  former commissioner in the State and Physician, Kunle Isiaq Salako,  has taken to his social media to mourn Tunji Olurin,  describing him as "arguably the most accomplished public servant of his time in Yewa land"

"Adieu to one of the biggest fish in Ogun West, General Adetunji Idowu Olurin,  arguably the most accomplish public servant of his time in Yewa land: former ECOMOG Commander, Former military Administrator of old Oyo State, former member of AFRC,  former civilian administrator of Ekiti State former PDP gubernatorial candidate in Ogun State, resource person to many military academies across the globe and many more.

"A renown military strategist, deep intellectual and dutiful administrator.  May Almighty God rest his soul in paradise and console his family," Salako stated.

The Daily Crucible, learnt that Ogun State Police Command is making arrangements to despatch operatives to Olurin's country home to secure the area in anticipation of the security challenges  that might be engendered with heavy human and vehicular traffic to the place.
