President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled  with the family, friends and acquaintances of Yinka Odumakin, spokesman of Yoruba socio-political group, Afenifere.
Odumakin was also spokesman to the then Gen Buhari in 2011, when he ran for President on the platform of Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), now defunct.
The President recalls Odumakin as dutiful, and a person of conviction, expressing sorrow at his demise, when he had a lot more to contribute to society and the nation at large.
Buhari in a release by Femi Adesina, his
Special Adviser (Media and Publicity),
prayed God to grant repose to the soul of the departed activist, and comfort all those who mourn him.
Also, Buhari's aide, Ms Lauretta Onochie sympathized with Odumakin's widow, Dr. Joe Okei Odumakin, over the demise of her husband.

Describing her as "Ada Anioma" - daughter of a unique ethnic group in Delta State, Lauretta Onochie prayed God to send His balm of Gilead to comfort Mrs Odumakin.

"My prayers and thoughts are with Ada Anioma @DrJoeOdumakin who lost her soul mate, husband, friend and father of her children, Yinka Odumakin, early this morning.

"May God send his balm of Gilead to comfort you and your entire family at this difficult time.

"May he find peace," Lauretta Onochie stated on her official Twitter handle.

Similarly, former governor of Osun State and Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola described the late Afenifere Publicity Secretary as a dogged fighter.

"A dogged fighter for human dignity has left our realm. May he find a joyful activity on the other side. Aamin.

"Joe, family and friends, I pray for fortitude to bear this painful loss," Aregbesola said.
