No fewer than  62 Captains drawn from the 81 Division, Nigerian Army (NA), have arrived 35 Artillery Brigade, Alamara, Ogun State, on Sunday for practical promotion  examinations.

The examinations seek to assess their level of "competence" and "integrity" in deploying tactical skills among others in all spheres of war.

It will also enhance their professional readiness to meet the demands of nation's "defence and security" and centres on map reading, tactics and low intensity conflict, communications, french language and staff duties at different stages.

Addressing the candidates, the Examination President,  Major General Lucky Irabor, said that a candidate's performance would determine his growth and progression in NA.

Major General Irabor noted that the objective also seeks to assess and prepare junior officers towards attainment of staff course while improving their knowledge and standard in the military profession.

He reminded them that their fate or success in respect of the Captain to Major Practical Examination  2020 (CMPPE 2020) lies with them, warning that it won't come through "fraudulent means" but by "competence and integrity."

According to him, neither him nor any member of the examination team was in Ogun State for the purpose of failing anybody.
