'You Have Impacted Your Community Positively,' Ogun Tells Corps Member

- The Daily Crucible

The Ogun state government has commended Miss Moyosoluwa Kolawole, a National Youth Service Corps member for exceptional conduct during the service year.

The commendation was given by the state Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs Funmi Efuwape, at the weekend, after inaugurating two of the corps members projects.

Moyosoluwa had earlier produced 2,000 face masks for the State Government at the peak of COVID-19 pandemic in May.
Efuwape called on youths, especially corps members to leave behind indelible marks that would stand the test of time.

"You'll be remembered even after your service years," she notes, saying that such display of diligence and commitment would not be left unnoticed by the present administration in the state.

Efuwape lauded Moyosoluwa as she commissioned a hostel she single-handedly at the Juvenile Correctional Home in Asero, Abeokuta and a Handswashing point at the Adire market, Itoku also in Abeokuta, carried out by a Corp member, Miss Moyosoluwa Kolawole.

The Commissioner who was represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Women Affairs, Hon. Adijat Adeleye, explained that the corpsvmember had distinguished herself by contributing towards the development of the community during her primary assignment

She advised other corps members in the state to emulate her by committing to the development of their communities, stressing that the ministry would write a letter of recommendation to the  Governor who she said "likes intelligent people."

"She deserves whatever the state government can do for her. We will be recommending to the Federal Government for commendation; we will not just tell the government to give her a commendation letter. We will recommend more, but the whole thing lies with the Governor.

"But I know that the Governor likes intelligent, brilliant people and for Moyosoluwa, she has distinguished herself. She has separated herself from the rest; so, I'm optimistic that the governor will do something for her when he knows about her exploits," she said.

In her remark, the Ogun state coordinator, National Youth Service Corps, (NYSC,) Dr Mrs Belinda Faniyi,  described Miss Kolawole as a dedicated corps member, said she has fulfilled one of the objectives of the service which according to her centres on community development.

Aside the renovation of the hostel at the Juvenile home at Asero, Moyosoluwa Kolawole also embarked on the construction of a hand washing point for the use of market men and women at the Adire Mall, Itoku, where the NYSC Coordinator and the Iyaloja, Itoku market, Alhaja Sitirat Akamo were full of praise for the Corps member, who they both commended for her good gesture.

In her response, Miss Moyosoluwa Kolawole while appreciating all those people that contributed to the completion of her pet projects, said she was happy that during her service year she was able to impact positively on the lives of people within the community of her primary assignment.
