EndSARS Protest : Twitter Down For Many Nigerian Users

... Company Attributes Occurrence To Change In Internal systems
Many Nigerians home and abroad could not do  follow-ups or any, for hours on Thursday regarding the nationwide EndSARS protest being championed largely by youths who feel disillusioned, marginalised, oppressed and brutalised following alleged bad governance in all tiers of Governments in the country.

Much as many tried to updates on the protest through the Twitter, they discovered to their chargering that the platform was not just responding.

There was outage that lasted over an hour.

Some cursed and yelled at the social networking site while others suspected that the government's agents were at work to sabotage the protest, whittle it down and its global impact but Twitter Inc said its social networking site was down for many users due to an inadvertent change it had made to its internal systems.

But the platform seemed to be returning to normal after about an hour and half of outage.

The company said https://status.twitterstat.us that the site should be working for everyone within the next few hours and that it did not have any evidence of a security breach or a hack.

Outage tracking website Downdetector.com showed  more than 55,000 users were facing issues with Twitter.

Last July, Twitter reported a breach, saying  hackers accessed its internal systems to hijack some of the platform's top voices, including U.S. presidential candidate Joe Biden and reality TV star Kim Kardashian, and used them to solicit digital currency.
