Nollywood Actress and multi - award Winner, Tonto Dikeh, on Thursday lamented that hunger is bitting harder on Nigerians  following the lockdown over Coronavirus pandemic, saying she and her staff escaped death by the whiskers from hungry mob who attacked them while distributing relief items to vulnerable people.

Tonto Dikeh whose humanitarian works, through her Tonto Dikeh Foundation, had been concentrated on Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and some northern States since the outbreaks of the COVID - 19 in Nigeria last February 28, rued further that they were attacked and beaten even by the beneficiaries of her relief items.

She said the violence they encountered in one of the undisclosed communities, was not only an attestation to the fact that the citizens and residents were passing through a phase of "dangerous hunger,"  but also an indication that the Federal Government's relief funds weren't reaching the intended beneficiaries.

The Brand Ambassador and Inspirational Speaker, added that such likely neglect or dereliction of duty is putting people - NGOs, doing humanitarian service from personal resources and donors in grave danger in the hands of hungry Nigerians.

While drawing the attention of President Muhammadu Buhari to it on her Instagram page, she called for Police protection when performing subsequent humanitarian works.

"Dear @muhammadubuhari I DOUBT THE RELIEF MONEY FOR NIGERIANS ARE BEEN SHARED....

"Look into this as the actions of the people who are not doing their jobs by disbursing funds appropriatedly are putting NGO workers and humanitarian personnel AT A BIG RISK..."
