Coronavirus: Ikenne LGA Distributes Protective Gears To CDAs, Other

... Also sensitizes Communities on preventive measures against COVID - 19

Ikenne Local Government Area(LGA) of Ogun State has sensitized representatives of various Community Development Associations(CDA) and National Youth Council(NYC) in the LGA on the need to join forces with the government to combat the Coronavirus pandemic and prevent its spread in the state.

 The LGA urged the CDAs leaders to help preach the message of social distancing, stay - at - home order and regular practice of hands and respiratory hygienes to their various constituencies in order to contain the spread of the Covid-19. 

The Transition Committee Chairman, Rotimi Akinsanya, who addressed the CDAs representatives  ahead of the total lockdown of Ogun State, stressed that mobilization and sensitisation of the residents of the LGA were the panacea to curbing the dreadful virus. 

Akinsanya also launched the Personal Protective Equipment(PPE) such as customised buckets with tap, hand wash bowls and soaps to aid the practice of hands hygiene at this trying period.

He expressed his appreciation to the National Youth Council, Ikenne LG chapter, for effectively partnering with the Local Government on the Campaign for "stay safe" from the COVID -19 pandemic.

The President National Youth Council, Mr Odumosu Gbenga, commended the Local Government for their cooperation and appealed  for more assistance  to meet the budget projected for the campaign.

Chief Ade Onabowale who spoke on behalf of the various Community Development Associations also lauded the Local Government for carrying the CDAs along in her various interventions on COVID 19.

Engr Abass Isola, Head of Local Government Administration, while  emphasizing the importance of hygiene, said after the Covid-19  pandemic was over, living hygienic life should be part of our every day culture.

Present at the meeting were members of the Transition Committee, according to Adenusi oyebola, the Info officer  of Ikenne LGA in a release made available to The Daily Crucible.
