Abeokuta South Sets Up Food Bank To Cushion Effects Of Lockdown, COVID - 19



Abeokuta South Local Government Area of Ogun State has set up a food bank to enable indigenes and residents have access to various food items and other relief materials. 

The food bank is located at the Local govenment Secretariat, Ake, Abeokuta and was put in place to cushion the effect of the lockdown and the Covid -19 pandemic.

Hon Ayo Shomide, the Transition chairman for the Local Government who made this known in a release, called on churches, philanthropists, corporate organisations, NGO'S,  businesses and well meaning individuals to support the initiative. 

"We welcome donation of food items and relief materials to support the less privileged within our local government as we prepare for the state lockdown which commences on Friday 3rd of April 2020," he stated.
