Ganduje Dethrones Emir of Kano, Sanusi, New Emir To Be Announced Soon

    • Sanusi Lamido Sanusi

The Kano State Government on Monday dethroned the fiery Emir of Kano Emirate, Alh. Muhammad  Sanusi 11.

A letter emanating from Alh. Usman Alhaji, Secretary to the State Government communicating the immediate removal Sanusi said Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje unanimously approved the dethronement.

The government cited "total disrespect to lawful instructions from the Office of the state Governor and other lawful authorities" as reason for his removal.

The Daily Crucible gathered that a new Emir will soon be announced to replace the former Central Bank Governor who since becoming an Emir, was quite critical of some practices in the North that serve as drivers of poverty, diseases, destitutions and army of almagiris in that part of the country.

It is also being expected that the dethroned Sanusi will put up a tough legal battle with Ganduje - led administration in Kano State to challenge his ouster.

Although today ugly incident is not the first of it in the family history of the Sanusis in Kano, it  had happened before  in 1963, and it was his grandfather, Emir Sir Muhammadu Sanusi 1,
who was the deposed king and banished to Kebbi in today's Kebbi State.

Today, barely 57 years after, the grandson of Sanusi 1, Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi 11,  has just been served same bitter pill.
