Police Rescue Man From Mob In Ogun

Armed  Police men on Wednesday evening saved a man from being attacked by angry members of the public who were gearing to bring harm on him.

The man who is suspected to be suffering from mental illness because of his unkempt condition, was sighted at the popular Kuto market, Abeokuta, the state capital, bearing a bag which arose the curiosity of the traders.
Some youths in the market quickly accosted him, demanding to know what was his mission around the market and when he could not give intelligible response, they compelled him to empty the contents of his bag to ascertain what was inside. 

A witness said the man gave his name  as Lanre under duress and that three ATM cards of different banks, condoms and unspecified amount of money in N1000 denomination were found when he emptied his bag.

It was learnt that the discovery not only drew the anger of the traders and passers - by the more, but also heightened the suspicion that he could be out for child kidnapping mission in the area.

The mob dragged  him out of the market to a closed location and were about to unleash violence on him when armed Policemen in white patrol van arrived in the nick of time and snatched him from them.
