Why I Live Longer, Healthier - Obasanjo


Ex - President Olusegun Obasanjo on Monday gave insight into the secret of and key to  his healthy long life.

Obasanjo  said resting, exercising and eating balanced diet were keys to healthier and longer life.

The Ebora Owu, who about three years ago, disclosed that he has been living with diabetes since age 50, will be 83 in March.

He spoke while receiving Ogun State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dr. Oluwadare Kehinde, at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, Ogun State.


He also said taking necessary precautions were needed to age gracefully.

Obasanjo urged the Commissioner to initiate programmes that would further improve sports in the State, noting that, ‘’it is a very important aspect of human life which could make positive impact on the citizenry, if properly harnessed.’’

Responding, Kehinde said the visit was to appreciate Chief Obasanjo for his contribution to the society, as well as tap from his wealth of experience.

The Commissioner stressed that the Ministry would continue to consult the former President to turnaround the state's sports sector, promising to key into the ‘RED’ mantra of Resting, Dieting and Exercising for healthy living.

On the Commissioner’s entourage were; a member, representing Yewa South II Constituency at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Adegoke Adeyanju and a retired Judge in the State Judiciary, Hon. Justice Oladeinde Soremi (Rtd.).
