Welfare Scheme Coming For Vulnerable People In Ogun

 A social intervention programme called  "Oko Owo Dapo" is coming to Ogun State to provide succour to the vulnerable in the state.
  Governor Dapo Abiodun who gave hint of this at the Cultural Centre, Abeokuta, during this year's International widows Day,  also disclosed that there would be Job Creation and Youth Employment agency to oversee the opening a data base of all youth in the State.
 The Governor added that the portal for the data base would capture acquired skill by each youth, stressing that the local content policy would mandate industries operating in the State to give employment to indigenes.

He said the hosting of the Widows Day was to demonstrate that in building the future together mantra of his administration was meant for everybody irrespective of gender, status or economic stratification.
He called on people to assist the vulnerable in the society, especially the widows.

 Speaking at the occasion, the wife of the Governor, Mr.Bamidele Abiodun, said a data base would be created to capture widows in the State, just as government would partner the private sector to sponsor programmes that would benefit the widows.
In their good will messages, the Head of Department, Agricultural Extension, Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta, Prof. Olubunmi Anisholowo, commended the addministration for coming up with programmes that would address the plight of widows.
Also Wife of the Speaker, Mrs. Bolanle Oluomo and the wife of the Olu of Ilaro, Olori Olugbenle, called for the empowerment of widows to enable them take care of their families.
