I Knew Isiaka Will Lose Ogun Guber Poll Again - Daniel

Former Governor Gbenga Daniel on Sunday revealed that he knew his once political son, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka, of the African Democratic Congress(ADC), would not win the last March 9 gubernatorial election in Ogun State.

Daniel added that he was so sure of Isiaka's defeat that even if he had mobilised all his political machineries and supporters to work for the third time governorship candidate from Ogun West senatorial district, his political fate in that poll wouldn't change.

The Director - General, Atiku Campaign Organisation in the build up to the presidential election and two term governor of Ogun state on the platform of PDP, who made this known in his Aserudero Court during a meeting with his political family, said this informed why he elected to lead his supporters to work for Prince Dapo Abiodun of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The meeting was convened by him to formally announce to his thousands of supporters that he was done with partisan politics.

He disclosed that his journey into the murky water of politics was accidental and borne out of the need to "awaken the sleeping giant" - Ogun state, from a deep slumber.

He noted that having met that purpose to the extent that the state is now on the path of progress he charted, it was important that he leaves the stage when the "ovation is loudest."

Daniel also lamented that he has been "battered," "bruised"  and "called names because of politics" hence his resolve to quit even and at a time there is also, so much outcries against "sit tight leaders."

He narrated how he failed at getting Hon. Ladi Adebutu and Isiaka to work together after the court had validated  Senator Buruji Kashamu as the PDP gubernatorial candidate, rueing  that members of his political family were not listening to him sometimes.

But his resolute supporters, said they would take none of such excuses from him, protesting that he could proceed to write the leadership of PDP of his resignation from politics and even let that out to the media without first consulting them.

One of them, Ifekayode Akinbode led other members of the OGD Political Family to prostrate for Daniel with the women holding  his legs, pleading passionately that he should lead them to APC.

And arriving at a final resolution, the PDP Senatorial candidate for Ogun Central during the just concluded 2019 general elections, Hon. Kayode Jelili Amusan, puts the matter to  a voice vote where  they were allowed to choose between remaining in PDP or joining APC but in unison, they all resolved to collectively join APC.
