Polls : Pray For Nigeria To Choose Right Leaders - Okowa

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa on Wednesday attended the Standing Committee meeting of the Anglican Communion at St. Andrew's Cathedral Church, Warri, Delta State, and urged the Christians to continue to pray for the country.

Okowa said this becomes quite necessary as the nation commences another process of electing the next set of leaders with Presidential and National Assembly polls coming first on February 16.

Citing Biblical characters like Daniel, Elijah and Esther whose fervent intercession provoked God's mercy, blessings and judgment; the Governor said Nigeria needs such prayers to encourage both the leaders and the followers to make informed decision.

According to Okowa, who is seeking a reelection for another term of four years on the tickect of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), "the church must stay resolute in the place of prayer" at this critical period of electing leaders.

He also advised Christians not to shy away from actively participating in the electoral process.
