An Anioma(Delta State) son and human rights crusader, Prince Gwamnishu Emefiele Harrison, is poised to set free a teenage girl allegedly being prepared ahead of her being given out in marriage in Ihiala, Anambra State to a man believed to be 65 years old.

The picture of the child - bride and her supposed husband - to - be (identified as Mr. Izuchukwu Igwilo) surfaced on the social media this week, drawing not a small uproars and condemnations from members of the social media community, who viewed the purported planned marriage  between him and the teenage girl, as a case of child abuse.

Apparently shocked by the development, Prince Gwamnishu stepped in and petitioned the Police high command in Anambra State, urging the Police to free the girl from plans by some adults to lure her into an early marriage.
In the Petition titled "Child Abuse, Infringement on Fundamental Rights and Conduct Likely To Cause Breach of Peace by Izuchukwu Igwilo and his cohorts in Ihiala contrary to Child Rights Act," dated February 1, 2019 and addressed to the Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Police Command, Awka, Anambra State, the petitioner, Behind Bars Rights Foundation, a Non - Governmental Organisation (NGO) founded and promoted by Gwamnishu Harrison, called on the Police Commissioner to wade into the matter and sanction the alleged infringement and child abuse against Mr. Izuchukwu Igwilo and his cohorts according to the Child's Rights Act.

The Petition was written by F.N. Ajuebor Esq, counsel and solicitors to the NGO.

The moves to free the child - bride was made known by Gwamnishu on his Facebook page, promising to update followers of the trending issue when the mission is accomplished.
