Ogun APC Caucus Write Oshiomhole, Accuse Amosun Of Anti - Party Activities

Ayobami Ife, Abeokuta

Ogun State Caucus of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have petitioned the National Chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole,  and declared loss of confidence in Governor Ibikunle Amosun and his sincerity to work for the success of the party in the state.

The APC caucus in the state added that given the alleged anti-party activities of Amosun, he can't be trusted to sincerely "head the Presidential  Election Council in Ogun state."

This was contained in a signed petition addressed to Oshiomhole and copied Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu - APC National leader, Otunba Niyi Adebayo - Deputy National Chairman (South) and Barr. Bankole Oluwajana- National Vice - Chairman (Southwest).

The party governorship candidate in the state, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Samuel Durojaiye(Secretary of the caucus), Senator Dipo Odujinrin, former Deputy Governor, Prince Segun Adesegun, Chief Yemi Sanusi, Engr. Ayo Olubori, Sunday Sowunmi and Hon. Olabisi Abiola were signatories to the petition dated January 7 and made available to reporters on Saturday.

Other signatories included Tunde Oladunjoye, Hon. Odeneye Kehinde, Senator Gbenga Obadara, Hon. Abiodun Abudu - Balogun, Hon. Kunle Adeshina, Olu Agemo, Engr. Noimot Salako - Oyedele, and Yomi Siwoniku.

In the petition dated 7th January titled: 'Re: Petition Against The Governor Of Ogun State Senator Ibikunle Amosun For Anti-Party Activities And Utterances,' the Caucus members called the attention of the National chairman to alleged destructive tendencies of Amosun, towards the corporate interest of the party and its members in the state.

They alleged that Amosun sponsored and encouraged members of APC who are his followers to leave APC for the Allied People's Movement (APM), where his preferred candidate is contesting for the governorship seat.

The petitioners also alleged that the governor using his office to sway the uniformed security personnel to aid the activities of hirelings and hoodlums who engaged in destruction of campaign materials of the APC and instilling fear in the minds of party followers and supporters.

They also expressed the worry that given the open declaration of war on Ogun State APC and blatant destruction of all party structure at all levels by Amosun, coupled with his hostilities towards all APC candidates, they therefore declared loss of confidence in the governor and his sincerity to head the Presidential  Election Council in Ogun state.
