No Pact or Link With APM - Adebutu

Ayobami Ife, Abeokuta

The Governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Hon. Ladi Adebutu, has disclosed that he does not have any pact or link  with the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in respect of the March 2 gubernatorial polls in Ogun State.

Adebutu added that there is, therefore, no truth to the story trending on the social media, some online news outlets and report of same in a few of the mainstream media that he has directed his supporters to team up with the APM and its candidate.

The Federal lawmaker described the report as false and a figment of the imagination of the writer, and urged PDP members and supporters to discountenance such falsehood as he remains the governorship candidate of PDP.

Speaking on Monday through Dayo Rufai, Head of the Associate Media Team, Ladi Adebutu Democratic Organisation, the governorship hopeful said it is unthinkable for a leading governorship candidate in a contest to abandon his party for another.

He noted that though,  he enjoys personal relationship with other governorship candidates in the state, but such should not be construed to mean working for another candidate or his  party.

Adebutu explained that he had in recent times, toured all the wards in the state in  bids to identify the needs of the people and find lasting solution to  them when he gets into office.

“The report in a section of the mainstream media and social media about my purported directive to PDP faithful in Ogun State to team up with APM only exists in the imagination of those peddling the rumour. It is on record that we have gone through far and wide in the state to identify with the mass of people.

"It may interest you to note also that, we have been spending fortunes to make our people comfortable through personal efforts, which we intend to step up when our party becomes the ruling party right from the federal to the local government levels.

"I’ve distributed over 201 (500) Kva transformers to different communities across the LG areas, among other empowerment schemes."

Adebutu however urged the PDP faithful in the state to remain steadfast, more determined and unshaking in their quest for a better Ogun State by voting for candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party in the next general election.
