President Muhammadu Buhari, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, ex - military President, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), Atiku Abubakar and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress(APC), Adams Oshiomhole, on Tuesday afternoon stormed the Congress Hall of the Transcorp Hilton Hotel, Abuja, for the launch and public presentation of "My Transition Hours," a book written by former President Goodluck Jonathan.

The Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha, represented Muhammadu Buhari at the historical  book launch which momentarily united the nation's politicians across parties who hitherto were locked in campaign war of attrition against each other over the 2019 general elections.

In the book, Jonathan chronicled his life path, particularly his last turbulent four years in office as President of Nigeria and the series of local and international intrigues that saw him lose the 2015 Presidential election in Nigeria to President Buhari of the ruling APC.

In his remarks at the book presenation, Abdulasalmi Abubakar, who was one of the key figures that played crucial roles in dousing the tension preceding, during and immediately after the 2015  Presidential election, said the country is at peace today because Jonathan conceded defeat during the election.

The ex - military leader noted that Nigerians owed Jonathan unquantifiable gratitude for loving the country more than power and conceding defeat during the election.

“We cannot thank you enough for the peace we are having in the country today; for the peaceful transition we had when you freely and voluntarily conceded defeat.

“By your decision, you have shown that you love your country more than you love power," Abubakar said.

Other eminent Nigerians and politicians that graced the occasion include the National Chairman of PDP, Uche Secondus, Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Alfred Achebe,  former Ghana President, John Mahama, former Republic of Benin President, Boni Yayi and ex -  Sierria Leone President, Mr. Ernest Koroma.
