High profile politicians in Southwest of Nigeria, including some serving and past National Assembly members and some past State House of Assembly Speakers - all under the aegis of Southwest Agenda (SWAGA), on Sunday visited the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, seeking  his royal blessings upon their move to ensure that former governor Lagos State, Asiwaju  Bola Ahmed Tinubu succeeds President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.

The Southwest SWAGA chairman, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, who announced the delegation's misdion to the Palace, said Tinubu is the most qualified and competent person from the region to take the mantle of leadership from Buhari when his tenure ends in 2023.

Adeyeye said considering the fact that power would return to the South in 2023, it is important that the yoruba nation pull together in one direction and form a formidable force in order to compete successfully for the the All Progressives Congress(APC) Presidential ticket along with the South-South and Southeast geopolitical zones respectively.

He disclosed that the national leader of APC did not send them an errand on the cause being pursued by them but stressed that they elected to work for him  concerning 2023 Presidency as he remains the yoruba's "best foot forward" for the number one office in the country among all the contending forces.

In his response, Oba Ajayi threw his weight behind SWAGA, prayed for its success and called for all stakeholders to come together and speak with one voice so that the region could produce the next president in the person of Tinubu.
