Oshiomhole Fights Back, Seeks Stay Of Execution Against Order Of Lower Court

From Jane Okafor, Abuja

In a swift and deft move, Adams Oshiomhole has ran to the Appeal Court, Abuja, expressing his dissatisfaction over the order of a Federal Capital Territory High Court granted earlier today suspending him as the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In Oshiomhole's appeal filed before the appellate court on Wednesday shortly after his suspension, he stated that he was dissatisfied with the ruling of Justice Danlami Senchi, which ordered him to henceforth stop parading himself as the chairman of the ruling APC pending the determination of the substantive suit filed against him.

Senchi had in his ruling on the suit filed by the Plaintiffs - Mustapha Salihu, Anselem Ojezua, Sani Gwamna, and four others held that Oshiomhole is currently suspended, and was yet to challenge his suspension as a member of the APC in Etsako ward 10, in Edo State.

The judge asked the party to stop recognising him the former Labour leader and ex - governor as its chairman, adding that Oshiomhole should also not be granted access to the Party's National Secretariat.

And scarcely had the order being granted by the High Court that the police took over the party’s Secretariat in Abuja, stationing  a plethora of armed officers at the building
