A Non - Governmental Organisation - the Less Privileged Children Encouragement Initiative (EI) on Tuesday took its Sandals Outreach initiative to St. Barnabas Anglican Primary School, Okun-Owa, Ijebu, Ogun State and kitted the largely indigent pupils of the school with new pairs of sandal.

Also, excercise books and copies of one of the books written by Prof. Patrick Edewor titled "The Secret of Academic Excellence," were distributed free to the pupils.

A total of 101 pupils received the new a pair of sandals each while other students got copies of Edewor's book as well as exercise books.

The kind gesture was carried out by the Less Privileged Children Encouragement Initiative (EI) in collaboration with the family of late Professor Patrick Aziakpono Edewor in memory of the Professor who passed on exactly a year ago at the age of 60.

Prof. Edewor attended St Barnabas Primary School, Okunowa for his primary school education.  His parents who were farmers had settled in the agrarian village as at the time he was born.

Mrs. Edewor and her first child, Miss Phejiro Edewor,  who graced the outreach with their phydical presence, encouraged the pupils to be of good behavior and live a life that would  serve and impact the immediate environment through kindheartedness.

In the last five years, over 2500 pupils in various schools in Ogun State, particularly in Ogun East Senatorial district, have benefited from the Sandals outreach programme of the Less Privileged Children Encouragement Initiative (EI) founded and promoted by Dr. Rotimi Akinlesi.

Dr. Akinlesi, an ex  - student of Mayflower, a college founded by an educationist and social critics, Late Dr. Tai Solarin, lauded all "EI Volunteers" who made themselves available for the trip to Barnabas Anglican Primary School, Okun-Owa, Ijebu.
