Cyclist Assaults FRSC Officer In Ogun

A motor cycle rider has attacked a patrol team of the Federal Road Safety (FRSC) Operatives at the Idiroko area of Ogun State, seriously injuring of one of them on the jaw.

The assault occurred in the afternoon on new year eve, when the FRSC Operatives arrested the man along the Ajilete area of Idiroko and booked him for riding without helmet.

The Daily Crucible gathered that the rider after failing to stop the Operatives from booking him, dashed to his impounded motorcycle and  attempted to violently set it free, attacked the FRSC Patrol Team thereby, injuring one of them in the process.

The Ogun State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Clement Oladele, who confirmed the attack, said the wounded officer has been taken to a hospital for treatment.

Oladele said further that the motorcycle rider was later handed over to the Idiroko Police Station. 

Meanwhile another set of FRSC Operatives escaped death by hairbreadth at the early hours of new year eve along the Lagos - Ibadan Expressway around Mowe when a speeding Lexus SUV, marked LSD 580 FF that lost control, skidded off the road its landed and rammed into their Patrol Vehicle parked some metres away from the road.

The FRSC Patrol team were directing traffic and clearing obstruction caused by a broken down truck on the road when the SUV crashed into their vehicle.

No injury recorded in the crash but the FRSC Patrol Vehicle was damaged.
