A prominent leader of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State, Hon. Biodun Adeleye, on Thursday hailed the supreme court judgement which validated the electoral victory of Governor Dapo Abiodun.
Adeleye in his congratulatory message to Abiodun, described the victory as a true reflection of democracy in Nigeria and felicitated with him on the vedict affirming his election as Ogun State Governor.
"It is indeed a victory for our democracy and I must commend the judiciary for truly being the hope of the masses," he stated.
He said that Abiodun's has recorded many achievements in the last 200 days in office, stressing that the supreme Court judgment itself would make him do more for the people as he was just reaffirmed as the number one citizen of the Gateway State.
Abiodun, who defeated his closest rival, Adekunle Akinlade of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) got the victory challenged at the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, Appeal Court and Supreme court.
The appeal court had earlier ruled in favour of the decision of the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, and dismissed the petition filed by the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and its candidate, Akinlade.
However, the Supreme Court sitting in Abuja on Wednesday upheld the decision of the Appeal Court declaring Governor Dapo Abiodun as the winner of the March 9 Ogun governorship election.
He therefore charged the good people of Ogun State especially people of it's constituents to team up and work together with Abiodun's administration to achieve a better Ogun standard.
