Despite his repeated avowal that Prince Dapo Abiodun would not become Governor, and boasting also that his preferred man, Hon. Abdulkabir Adekunle Akinlade of the Allied Peoples Movement(APM) would succeed him,  Senator Ibikunle Amosun, on Tuesday reversed himself and handed over the rein of power to the successful entrepreneur and billionaire oil magnate;  Abiodun.

Amosun who inaugurated a number of projects in Abeokuta and Ijebu area of the state earlier, pulled out by noon in a motorcade after eight years sojourn at the Oke - Mosan  Governor's Office amid tears from cronies and his Deputy, Mrs Yetunde Onanuga.

He delegated the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Taiwo Adeoluwa to handover to the Abiodun Transition Team chaired by the Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako - Oyedele some minutes after he had pulled out.

The hand over notes comprising Interim Report, Audited Financial statement of the state as at December 2018,  Homeowners Charter Document and one other were delivered to Mrs Oyedele by Adeoluwa and witnessed by former Deputy Governor, Segun Adesegun, Deputy Speaker Ogun State House of Assembly, Kunle Oluomo among others.

Adeoluwa commended Mrs Salako - Oyedele and her team for their understanding and patience during the period of the interface between the two groups.

The Deputy Governor, however, said the new administration  would take a close look at the documents, to establish  the true  health of the state.

"I was expecting an interim report that we can examine now. But it is as if you want to give us some homework to do and I can assure you we are up to the task."

"Our pledge to the people of Ogun State is that they will continue to enjoy good governance. Our administration will review on-going projects," she said.
